The lounge / bar area was very comfortable, I could sit there and read a book all afternoon. The breakfast was lovely, choice of cooked and buffet.

We liked very much the location of the hotel, it was nice and peaceful, well, as peaceful as it could get next to he road but still was really nice. The staff was really nice and attentive, specially a Spanish guy from the breakfast team, don't know his name. The room had all we needed, apart from a fridge, but that's OK. In the morning we kept hearing a noise that came from outside, like a machine or something, and it was quite annoying but in terms of room itself, it was great.

It was our first visit to Ambleside and we weren’t disappointed. We had a meal at Luigi’s which was amazing. The staff were very friendly and I would definitely recommend this restaurant and I am a fussy eater.
The weather was glorious so we had a few drinks in the beer garden at the Royal Oak pub.
Ambleside was about a 15minute walk from our accommodation, Windermere Rooms at the Wateredge Inn.

We stayed across the lake from Ambleside and it was much quieter and prettier.

The area itself is amazing, loads of pubs, bars and restaurants around all offering various meals, I would book in advance for most of them to avoid disappointment.
Pitch & putt really good or mini golf for families.
plenty of walks around and further if you desire.
regular bus service to other areas of the lakes.
The hotel met all our needs and we would definitely return. The room size was great and the views were as described for the type of booking. Breakfast and our evening meal were very good. All staff were polite and friendly. The waiter for our Sunday evening meal seemed new to the hotel but his service, attention to our needs and general engagement with us was first class. We booked the hotel as it was dog friendly but the venue is equally good whether you have a pet or not.
This hotel was very well run. Breakfast excellent, room excellent spotlessly clean, Staff in all areas of the hotel were very helpful friendly and professional. I loved the Spa facilities they were lovely and totally relaxing and again very clean. My husband travels worldwide so can be quite critical of hotels as he's been in the best and the worst of them and he thought ambleside salutation hotel was great and he made no negative comments ...and that's saying something.
Great location and great accommodation for the price. We booked last minute and chose Ambleside Central as there wasn't much available unless you wanted to pay an extortionate amount. To be honest we weren't expecting it to be very good but it was perfect for us. It's basic accommodation but very clean and comfortable. Parking was also included. We were really impressed and would definitely stay again.
We loved our room - it was so spacious, lovely and warm. the bed was super comfy and the shower was incredible! Super dog friendly, we had a bowl and treats waiting for us in the room. Nice and quiet location but only a minute from the town and 10 min or so walk to the lake front. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Ambleside Townhouse, and we would definitely stay again!
Staff were wonderful. Room was beautiful and really spacious! Breakfast included option made it amazing value for money. The breakfast running 30 mins beyond check out time really helps in the morning! The use of the car park until the next guests arrive is such a brilliant touch that costs the hotel nothing but would really encourage me to book again!
Very well presented and tasteful facility. The owners are efficient and explain everything, from parking to breakfast, very fully. The breakfast is great. The owners are friendly and always ready to help. The rooms have everything you need. Great value and a very central position for Ambleside's attractions.
This hotel is in an excellent location right in the heart of Ambleside, near to everything you need. The staff were friendly, the food in the bar was very nice. Breakfast was really good, could highly recommend the porridge :-)
The bar has been done up really nicely. The hotel is very dog friendly.
We tremendously enjoyed our stay at the Ambleside townhouse. The room was comfortable, clean and quiet. The staff were superb; competent, helpful and friendly. The morning breakfast was very good. We would certainly stay here on a future visit to hike in the Lake District.
Spacious and clean. Very light. Good kitchen area and lovely bathrooms. The beds were comfortable and we slept well. Good bedding and towels. Comfortable sofas with lots of cushions. Great location near to the centre of Ambleside with parking.
Extremely nice owners - make you feel at home. Great location in the center of Ambleside which is a cute little town to explore the Lake District from. Comfy bed. Tasty big breakfast which is made by owners. Great value for money
Stunning views out the window, couldn't be better! Has absolutely everything you need and just a little walk down right into the center of Ambleside.
