The central location with a balcony to view the sea. Lovely to look out at night and see the moonlight on the water.
The room was serviced each day and free-streaming was available on the TV.
The Rex Fine Dining restaurant was just up the road and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal there.

Lovely town on a steep hillside, with a sandy beach at the bottom. Really lovely food at the pub The Spyglass.
Botanical Gardens are wonderful, cliff walk lovely in both directions, and a great walk up on to the downs from where you can see the whole Island. Did everything on foot and by bus.

Attractive landscaping.
Ventnor has some very steep areas but negotiable with time.
Taxi services practically non-existent - suggest pre book as far as possible before arrival.

Really loved the town, wasn't too big.
Really loved the town, wasn't too big. Had shops to cater for all you would need. Very clean. Every where we went the people always welcoming and so friendly.
Lots of great walks on your doorstep whether it is along the coast or across the downs. Or there is a great bus service that can take you to the popular attractions.
Eating out there were all manner of food you could enjoy. Also at all price levels to suit your budget. Have to say our absolute favourite place to eat based on price and quality was The Bistro.
Has extremely steep hills to get down to the esplanade so would require you to drive if you had any mobility issues.
Would highly recommend.

Ventnor has lots to recommend it when taken individually - a variety of bars, cafes restaurants and pubs, a couple of mini supermarkets, a lot of quirky independent shops and antique shops, car parking, kids play areas, beach and some walkable attractions. The difficulty is the roads linking the downs, town and beach and all very steep, narrow and winding which made us think twice about getting the car out sometimes.

Still a bit run down, but the Town is on the Up.Lovely Beach and Esplanade The Town still harbours a few Alkies and Drug users, but they seem to appear to be on the Decline.Ventnor is very Hilly so be warned. The Spyglass is the best pub in Ventnor
We only stayed here for one night after we extended our stay but we wished we'd stayed here for the whole trip. It's a really lovely hotel, spacious and comfortable, good quality fan in the room, enormous bathroom with endless hot water (and the drinking water from the tap for some reason tastes like evian?!) Amazing view from the bar terrace and brilliant location just above the beach. It's a really steep walk up but we were used to that. I'd definitely choose the Wellington next time we're in Ventnor!
Darren's apartment was fantastic. Very recent renovation of a spacious flat just next to the botanical gardens at Ventnor. Darren did a great job - all mod cons, even usb phone charging slots next to the bed - and a few breakfast nibbles thrown in. (There's also a great breakfast place on the beach 10 mins walk from the flat) Best value stay we've had in years on Booking.com. He helped us rent ebikes, and dropped in to see if all was well. Strongly recommended!
Lovely spacious apartment, stylishly furnished and well equipped. Exceptionally clean and comfortable.
Beautiful park opposite which links to Ventnor beach front. A leisurely walk over the hill in the park greets one with a stunning view of the sea and the walk through the trees is lovely. This comes out at The Spyglass Inn which has really good food. Off street parking and wifi good. Definitely recommend a stay here.
Great location within walking distance to coastline and Ventnor town centre. The bedroom and bathroom were spacious and immaculately kept which made for a very comfortable stay. There was a wide choice for breakfast - fresh fruit, cereals, cooked breakfast. All of the staff were very welcoming and friendly.
I thoroughly recommend this hotel and would definitely choose to stay at St Maur again when visiting the IOW
Thank you very much for our wonderful stay in Ventnor!
The apartment is cosy and stylish, very comfy for 4 of us. We enjoyed the location, just 5 minutes from the beach, grocery shops and restaurants - two steps away, all you need is here. The host is great, he supplied us with all the necessary instructions for our stay and helped with our ferry tickets, thanks a lot!
Beautifully arranged and well organized, clean, excellent location, (beach is only a short walk away) great TV channel selection (Netflix, Prime, Disney plus, etc). Kitchen was well equip (loved that we’re given some coffee capsules), ahhh we basically loved everything about the place.
Beautifully decorated and furnished. Kitchen has dishwasher, washing machine andfridge freezer. Very well equipped kitchen. Seaview from front bedroom. Minutes to the beach. Huge sitting room with comfy sofas. Monsoon shower. Very close to the Spyglass Inn which serves excellent food
Can I say that the customer service was the best I have ever experienced in my life. The host couldnt do enough for you. We even got free cacke in our room. At Breakfast the host was very kind . I would not hesistate to go to this hotel again . Thank you for everything
Excellent location just a few seconds walk to the beach - easy walking to Steephill Cove and Bonchurch too. Great house with very comfotable beds, terrific bathrooms and kitchen facilities and very comfortable overall.
A gem on the Isle Of Wight. Very friendly team, great location for the 'bottom' of the island, first class restaurant (make sure you're there Friday - steak night is terrific). Lovely garden too.
The location of the property is excellent. It has a beautiful view over the beach at ventnor.
It's very close to amenities, walking distance to local coastal paths.
